So yes, Google Ads are very effective and is sure to drive in more traffic to your website. As a result of which, your business is sure to enjoy a boom in demand.

How does Google Ads work?

Now every time someone does a search on Google, an AdWords auction is created. The Google AdWords auction is focused around keywords– advertisers choose a list of keywords to target that are relevant to their business offerings, the words that people are most likely to use when searching for their product. They then bid on these keywords, basing each bid on how much they are willing to pay for a Google user to click on their ad.

The more you pay per click, the more likely your ad will appear in the search results. But in Google Ads, it’s not just the highest bid that is taken into account. Another factor plays a key role to how Google Ads work and that is Quality Score.

Quality Score is an estimate of how relevant your ads, keywords and landing pages are to a person who sees your ad. Quality Score plays a big role in how Google determines your Ad Rank, or what position you hold in paid search results.

Ad Rank = Quality Score * Bid

Simply bidding more than someone doesn’t necessarily mean you will rank first. If they have a better Quality Score, they could be outranking you for half the price that you pay on clicks.

So, what you need to do is focus on the Ad Rank i.e. by having a high Quality Score and Bid, your ad will easily be at the top spot.
